Who we are

We started because of a habit rather than a plan: one of us kept a folder of things friends had said at two in the morning and never repeated in daylight. Not gossip — the opposite. The sentences people only manage once.

Everything published here was sent in by the person it happened to. We don’t scrape forums, we don’t write fiction and label it true, and we don’t use anyone’s story to sell them something. Names and places get changed, twice if needed.

One story goes up each day. The rest of the archive stays open and free. A smaller collection stays sealed, because some people will only send us something if they know it won’t be on the front page.

FAQ

Is it really anonymous?

Yes. The submission form asks for no name, no account, and no email unless you want a reply. The only thing attached to your story is its entry number.

Will you publish everything?

No. We turn down anything that names a real person, anything that reads as invented, and anything written to hurt someone rather than to get it out.

Can I take my story down later?

Any time, no reason needed. Email us and it comes down the same day.

What’s the difference between the archive and sealed stories?

The archive is free and open to anyone. Sealed stories were sent on the condition that they stay behind a subscription — usually because the writer is still in the situation they’re describing.

How long before my story goes up?

Most stories are reviewed within a few days. If it needs edits for length or to protect someone’s identity, we’ll only publish once you’re comfortable with the final version.
